Since I was about 17 years old, I’ve worn Flowerbomb religiously.
As the name suggests, the fragrance by Viktor & Rolf is floral with warm, woody undertones. There’s no two ways about it; it just smells delicious, so it was one of the very few that appealed to me from a young age.

I’m certainly (and sadly) not the only one. The incredible combination of top notes of tea, bergamot and freesia with heart notes of sambac jasmine, cattleya orchid and centifolia rose and base notes of amber, cashmeran and patchouli has worked to make it one of the most popular designer fragrances on the planet.
Flowerbomb Eau de Parfum 30ml, £59, Viktor & Rolf
Fast forward to today, and at 31, I still love it just as much as I always did.
If I worked out how much I’d spent over the past few years on the scent, I’d be too embarrassed to admit it. We all know how much the cost of living is going up, so there are just some things I’m having to cut down on and sadly, my Flowerbomb addiction is one of them.
In my mission to spend less, I’ve been looking for more affordable alternatives to the designer perfume.
It depends how much (or how little) you’re looking to spend, but Poundland have a scent for just £1. Of course, it’s never going to be as good as the real deal, but you can’t really go wrong at that price.
So let’s delve into some of the alternatives I’ve found.

Aldi Lacura Floral Love
You’ll have to go into a store to find this one, but Aldi have an Flowerbomb alternative called Lacura Floral Love.
It’s just £5.99 and smells just like the real deal, with notes of rose, freesia, and African orange flower.
Oriental By Zara
Many of Zara’s perfumes are known to smell similar to luxury fragrances, so I’m not surprised to discover they have one for Flowerbomb.
TikTokers have discovered that the brand’s Oriental fragrance, which starts at £12.99, smells just like Viktor & Rolf’s with notes of bergamot, sweet orange, caramel and vanilla. Heaven.
Poundland Fleur Bloom
Fleur Bloom Perfume 100ml, £1, Poundland
If you’re really cutting down on your spending, try out Poundland’s Fleur Bloom. It’s just £1, with fresh floral hints and side notes of jasmine and orchid.
FM 20 By Federico Mahora

FM 20 Eau De Parfum 50ml, £13, Federico Mahora at Amazon
Amazon, a black hole of anything and everything, has some Flowerbomb alternatives too, including Fededrico Mahora’s 20 scent.
The reviews confirm it smells like the real deal, with one verified purchaser writing: ‘Excellent copy and lasts really long and for a fraction of the real thing.’
Flowerblitz
Flower Blitz 50ml, £19.99, Amourscents at Amazon
Next up, we have Flowerblitz. It’s claimed to be ‘90% identical’ to Flowerbomb.
I’m not quite sure how they work that one out, but at a much more affordable price point, it’s worth a try.

Milan By River Island
Milan Eau De Toilette 75ml, £14, River Island
If you’d rather try another high street fragrance, I recommend River Island’s Milan.
The vegan scent has top notes of bergamot and peach, core notes of violet, jasmine and lavender and base notes of patchouli, musk, sandalwood, amber, vanilla and sugar, creating a sweet scent just like Flowerbomb.
