As someone with expensive taste, I can safely say that COS’ classic wardrobe pieces are cut so well, they rival those of Celine and Stella McCartney.
The brand’s modern silhouette takes inspiration from sculptural art and architecture. Their exaggerated proportions give off a laidback and effortlessly cool vibe.
But if you’re shopping online, how do you avoid their pieces looking too oversized?
While it’s much easier to buy from the website than going physically shopping, some people may be put off as they don’t what size they are.
I’m here to help. Here’s everything you need to know.

Does COS’ sizing come up small?
COS’ sizing is generous. Most of the brand’s voluminous pieces are intentional, but these can run big for petite sizes.
Dresses, especially A-line or tunic-like styles, can appear extremely large on smaller frames.
The brand also has form-fitting options—shirts, tops, and blouses— that are relatively true to size, but you may need to go a size down for their more oversized pieces.
What size do COS models wear?
COS doesn’t disclose the sizes their models are wearing. With the brand’s loose fits, it can be hard to tell if they’re wearing an oversized piece or are sized down.
You can always refer to specific product pages for exact measurements of the pieces you want to buy.
When in doubt, it’s a good idea to buy two different sizes, or best of all, go to the shop and try the item on in person.
Do COS coats run big or small?
A few online reviewers say their coats are extra roomy, especially lengthwise if you’re on the shorter side.
You should go a size down and leave a little room under the coat for layers. Usually, you’ll want to wear knits under your coats, so having a little room will be ideal.
And as the weeks get colder, an oversized coat draped over a comfy jumper or a cardigan is the perfect cosy ensemble.
If your personal style features oversized pieces, then COS’ loose and slightly big sizes are perfect for you.
