Uniqlo is teaming up with Clare Waight Keller on a 30-piece collection, which embodies ‘fluidity, movement and femininity.’ The designer is perhaps best known for creating Meghan Markle’s exquisite wedding gown, which Meghan wore when she married Prince Harry in 2018. However Waight Keller also worked as creative director at Chloé and became Givenchy’s first female artistic director before stepping down in 2020. Since her departure from the French luxury fashion house, she has remained largely under the radar, but has made a bold comeback after three years by teaming up with UNIQLO.
The upcoming collection will be Waight Keller’s first collaboration with the Japanese clothing brand. She follows in the footsteps of key fashion players such as JW Anderson, Jil Sander, Marni and Christophe Lemaire, each bringing their own unique designs to the masses by collaborating with the brand. This time, the collection has become a line: UNIQLO:C. In an accompanying interview to the collection announcement, Waight Keller explains that the letter C stands for conversation, curiosity, city, clarity, creativity, connection and obviously represents her first name, Clare.
So what can we expect from the new collection? In a conversation with British Vogue, Waight Keller says, “I wanted to bring the essence of what I do: fluidity, movement, femininity—those were really key. But I also wanted to bring my sort of British sensibilities—the fact that I’ve always loved a little bit of this boy-meets-girl style, and the idea of attitude dressing.
“It’s this idea of an effortless wardrobe that’s really focused, and captures chic, casual, weekend—all the elements of everyday lifestyle for this customer.”
You’ll see the 53-year-old designer’s signature style within each piece of the collection. Key pieces include a timeless trench coat, a beautiful lemon yellow and white pleated skirt and a pair of salmon corduroy trousers, all of which are no brainers for a capsule autumn winter wardrobe.

When will Clare Waight Keller’s UNIQLO: C collection be available to buy?
UNIQLO: C will be available to buy from September 15. The public will be able to purchase the 30-piece collection consisting of flattering outerwear, dresses, tops, skirts, and more from over 1,500 stores worldwide. Expect a classic colour palette featuring neutral tones with a mix of interesting elements such as pleating and fine gathering, and high quality fabrics.
