Harry Styles is quite literally everywhere right now.
Over the past few years, we’ve seen Harry evolve from teen heartthrob in One Direction to multi-platinum solo artist, to serious actor in the likes of Dunkirk and now he’s turned his hand at fashion designer with a new collaboration with Gucci.
“He has an incredible sense of fashion; he is obsessed with clothes,” Alessandro Michele, creative director at Gucci commented of the As It Was singer.
“He keeps sketches and an archive; he could easily be a stylist or a designer, and is very free, representative of this new generation that is interested in so many things. I have been observing his ability to combine items of clothing in a way that is out of the ordinary compared to the required standards of taste and common sense and the homogenization of appearance.”
Throughout all the years one thing has stayed a constant and that was his fashion sense so it comes as no surprise he would team up with a brand we see him in so frequently – Gucci. I guess it was always in his
Some fashion collaborations just make perfect sense, and this is definitely one of them. If he’s not seen in merch from his beauty brand, Pleasing Harry is almost always sporting Gucci.
Harry is a longtime friend of Gucci’s creative director, Alessandro Michele and has been working with the brand for years in other capacities, including being the face of a Gucci campaign in 2018, Alessandro designing Harrys 2019 Met Gala look and the infamous blue dress Harry wore on the cover of Vogue.
Named the Ha Ha Ha collection, the collaboration is a product of Styles and Michele’s long standing friendship and their “creative complicity”, Gucci explained.
Michele commented that the collection is the “dream wardrobe” for him and Styles. He said that they started working on it “like two kids playing”.
“We ended up with a mix of aesthetics from 1970s pop and bohemian to the revision of the image of the gentleman in an overturned memory of men’s tailoring,” he said in a separate statement.
The name of the capsule combines Harry and Michele’s first initials, as well as representing the laughing face emoji, which the two friends have used in conversations with each other for years.
The Gucci Ha Ha Ha collection debuted Monday at Milan Men’s Fashion Week and is very much a merging of both of their personal styles with a ‘70s vibe.
