Every year we get excited for Milan Fashion Week, but when is it taking place in 2021?
Milan is one of the world’s biggest fashion destinations, and for good reason. The Italian city sees some of the best designers on the planet presenting their stunning seasonal collections at Milan Fashion Week, including Prada, Maxmara, Moschino and Gucci.
The event took place digitally in July 2020 and February 2021 due to the coronavirus pandemic, so it’s anticipated it will be virtual again this September but this is not yet confirmed.
When is Milan Fashion Week 2021?
Milan Fashion Week will take place 21st – 27th September this year, with Spring/Summer 2022 collections being showcased.
It comes after the first of the year’s Fashion Week’s, which took place in February and early March and saw designers presenting their Autumn/Winter 2021 collections.

How to watch Milan Fashion Week
It’s expected that you’ll be able to watch Milan Fashion Week live via the Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana (CNMI) website this September.
2020 was the first time the CNMI streamed Milan Fashion Week, with its president Carlo Capasa then explaining in a statement: “For the first time in its history, CNMI is experimenting with a highly innovative formula through a live, digital platform. It’s an ultra-inspiring tool, designed to support rather than replace the physical fashion calendar, which will resume in September and will remain vital in promoting ‘Made in Italy’ and the value of its manufacturing prowess.”
Unfortunately the physical event didn’t return in September, instead remaining digital then and in February 2021. It remains to be seen whether Fashion Week will resume as normal in September, as Italy is still in lockdown at present.
