The trend has actually been around since last winter, but perhaps because we weren’t actually showing off our clothes much, you may not have noticed.
This year, they’re back and many offer some colour to an otherwise grey season.
Rixo’s suede patchwork trench coat has been branded this winter’s ‘it’ piece, but there are so many more available that are vintage or even handmade!
I’ve always been a fan of old looking trends – eg. pieces that look like something my grandma would wear. Don’t worry, she’s a stylish lady!
I’m a sucker for fashion pieces that tell a story too. As slow fashion continues to rise, it’s a breath of fresh air to see patchwork coats – many of which are pre-loved – on the rise.
These fabrics are like different words that may not at first look like they belong together, but when placed side by side with intention create a beautiful style story.
Some are even reversible, so you basically get two coats for the price of one. If that’s not a good deal then I’m not sure what is.
I’ve found many options from designers like Stand Studio and SEA, as well as high street brands like Zara.
For sustainable fashion fans, we’ve found plenty of options for you too – and needless to say, I think they’re the best ones.
