Black Friday is an annual shopping event, which sees nearly all fashion and beauty brands offering huge discounts on their products. It takes place on the last Friday in November and the day after Thanksgiving, giving shoppers an opportunity to do their Christmas shopping early. The name symbolises the shift from financial losses to profits for retailers due to the high sales volume during this period.

Does Celine take part in Black Friday?

Designer brands rarely take part in sales like Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales and it seems like Celine follows that pattern. The label has kept quiet about the shopping event, so we’re presuming that they’re not taking part in 2023. It’s not all doom and gloom though. Many retailers that stock the brand do take part, like Matches Fashion, Net-a-Porter, Selfridges and Farfetch.

These sites stock the label’s eyewear brand, but Farfetch also stocks pre-loved bags, clothes and accessories from the French fashion house. The retailer has previously offered huge discounts on pre-loved pieces during BFCM, so keep your eyes peeled for a similar offer in 2023.

How much can you expect to save?

Last year Farfetch offered up to 50% off thousands of items and an additional 20% off all of the main sale items, as well as free shipping on all orders so we’re expecting similar discounts in 2023.

Matches Fashion offered up to 70% off, while Selfridges offered up to 50% off. Net-a-Porter gave 30% off thousands of designer items in 2022, so we can expecting similar offerings this year too.

Top tips for shopping on Black Friday & Cyber Monday

Avoid overspending by getting clear about what you want to buy during Cyber weekend. If you’re buying a designer item, pick those you’re happy to invest in and don’t get distracted on the day by other, cheap items. Create a wish list and don’t stray from it.

It’s also worth signing up to all relevant mailing lists, like those of Celine, Matches Fashion, Selfridges, Liberty London, Harrods, Farfetch and Net-a-Porter to ensure you don’t miss out of any Celine products go on sale.

Make sure you ask your friends and loved ones what they really want for Christmas so you don’t end up overspending needlessly on gifts they don’t love. Nobody will mind you asking, especially if it means they get what they really want for Christmas.
