Fashion Week is one of the most important dates in the calendar for those in the fashion industry – but is New York Fashion Week cancelled in 2021?
The COVID-19 pandemic has left Fashion Weeks across the globe up in the air, with many designers cutting back on collections.
Gucci announced it was abandoning the ‘stale’ seasonal fashion shows, opting for two shows every year instead.

The designer’s Creative Director Alessandro Michele announced the news on Instagram, writing, ‘I will abandon the worn-out ritual of seasonalities and shows to regain a new cadence closer to my expressive call.
‘We will meet just twice a year to share the chapters of a new story.’
So where does that leave Fashion Week? Here’s what we know about NYFW 2021 so far.
Is New York Fashion Week 2021 cancelled?
NYFW 2021 will go ahead, with many designers livestreaming their shows online instead of having physical showcases.
While the event is usually exclusive, the pandemic has meant that Fashion Week is now accessible to anyone as they can tune into the shows online.
The official chairman of the Council of Fashion Designers of America, Tom Ford also recently announced the introduction of the American Collections Calendar. How can you watch New York Fashion Week 2021?
You can watch many of the shows either via social media or online. While the designers are livestreaming their shows via their social media pages, NYFW are also streaming the entire event on their website.

When is New York Fashion Week 2021?
NYFW will take place this year on February 14 – February 17, showcasing the Fall Winter 2021 collections.
