As a fashion influencer, I’m always on the hunt for great clothes but when buying online, delivery costs can soon mount up. So, if there’s a way of saving on these costs, I’m all for it! That’s where Next Unlimited comes in. It offers free delivery if you sign up to an annual subscription. But is it worth the cost? Let’s have a look exactly what’s offered. If you’re a Next fan, make sure to check out how to find the product code on Next items, to make sure you never lose out on the garments you love.
Wear Next may receive a small commission if you click a link from one of our articles onto a retail website and make a purchase.
What is Next Unlimited?
Next Unlimited covers both clothing and furniture, as well as orders from Next’s partner site Laura Ashley. It costs £22.50 a year. Unlimited doesn’t just cover delivery, but also a few other things, which we have listed below, or you can find on their website. Here’s what included in Next Unlimited:
- Two person furniture delivery
- Standard home delivery – according to the website, this is next day and applies to ‘most orders’ placed before 11pm
- Send to a friend
- Parcel shop delivery
- Store returns

Taking each of these into consideration, Unlimited soon becomes a very attractive offer if you’re looking to visit the store a couple of times. This is because the delivery charges are actually quite high for each of the individual services. For example, two person delivery furniture costs £15, which isn’t far off the total year subscription price. When you through a standard delivery cost of nearly £5, Unlimited starts to make a lot more sense – especially for those looking to shop often at the retailer.
There are a few caveats. For one, you’ll notice that retuns are not free. This is a recent change, and seems to have not gone down too well with some regular customers who would have been affected. The retailer makes it clear on their website exactly what the return parameters are, stating:
- If you purchased a nextunlimited subscription before 27/01/23: you will continue to access free courier returns until the end of your current subscription.
- If you purchased a new nextunlimited subscription, started a free trial, or manually renewed on or after 27/01/23: your subscription will not give you access to free courier returns, this will be charged at the standard rate.
This means that regardless of a Next Unlimited membership, you will have to pay for courier returns. However, as we’ve discovered, you are able to return items for free at any of the 500 Next stores around the country. All you need to do is bring tthe item to the store, along with proof of purchase and you should be able to get a refund.
Is there a Next Unlimited free trial?
Still undecided? I’ve got some good news for you. Having scanned the website fine print, there is a Next Unlimited free trial – but this is only applicable for nextpay customers only. This means you can’t have had a Next Unlimited subscription in the past 6 months or 3 previous 1 month free trials at any time.
The trial includes 30 days of standard next day free delivery, with the first payment charged at the end of the month. The start date of your subscription is the day after your free trial ends and make sure to read the terms and conditions. You do of course have the right to cancel at any time. You can find out how to apply for nextpay by visiting their website and following the steps.
So, is Next Unlimited worth it? We think so. It saves a ton of costs especially if you’re a regular shopper. For those in doubt, we’d recommend checking out the free trial. Juts be prepared to go through a bit of admin via nextpay if you do want to try it out.
