The Jacquemus x Nike Collab Has Dropped: Here’s What You Need to Know

Prices start at just £35

Designer collaborations seem to be everywhere right now, and this time around it’s the sportswear collection you didn’t know you needed – Jacquemus x Nike.

After months and months of speculation, the two brands have finally confirmed that they are indeed working together on a collection – and I for one am beside myself with excitement.

The collection, which is three years in the making, will blend Nike’s performance excellence with Jacquemus’ signature style to give us a ‘summer ready-to-wear’ collection which will include sport-inspired clothes, accessories and footwear.

Speaking on the collaboration, Simon Porte Jacquemus commented, “For this collaboration with Nike, I wanted to create a collection that reinterprets athletic women’s sportswear in a minimal way.”

“I have always been inspired by vintage ACG pieces and Nike campaigns from the ’90s. Having this imagery in mind, we designed women’s athletic wear with sensuous details and neutral colors, along with my own interpretation of the Humara — my favourite Nike shoe.

It was important for the collection to be accessible, for all bodies, and to be a natural blend of Jacquemus style and Nike performance,” he continued.

Jacquemus is worn by everybody from Kendall Jenner and Emily Ratajkowski to Lizzo, and the brand is best known for its super colourful, fun and chic pieces, if the collaboration mood board is anything to go by however, this collection will focus more on muted tones, bringing it back to nature with browns, creams and whites.

Nike VP of Catalyst Apparel Design, Jarrett Reynolds explained; “When we collaborate at Nike, it’s always a 50-50 union where each partner comes together to advance the other forward in ways that couldn’t have been done alone,”

He continued “With Jacquemus, we drew from vintage ACG inspiration, the interweaving of Nike DRI-Fit fabric, and considered footwear like the Humara, to create a nexus of sport and style that could only be done through the shared lens of Nike x Jacquemus.”
