Is Snake Print In Style In 2023?

It's slithering back into our wardrobes.

Last Updated on February 9, 2023

Like other animal prints, snake prints are one of the most timeless patterns to ever exist – but are they in style in 2023?

In my personal experience, you either love snakeskin or hate it whether or not it’s actually trending. Perhaps the most important question to ask before you look into whether or not something is in style is: do you like it?

At Wear Next, we encourage you to wear what you love regardless of trends. They come and go, and the most important thing when getting dressed is to consider whether something makes you feel comfortable and confident.

Are snake prints in style in 2023?

Remember back in 2018 when snake prints rose to popularity? We could well be looking at another resurgence of the print this year.

At Copenhagen Fashion Week, which took place in January, the print featured heavily at Ganni’s FW23 show and appeared at Baum und Pferdgarten too.

For SS23, it was spotted as part of 16Arlington, Alaïa, Tod’s and Khaite’s collections.

The opulent pattern was also part of Roberto Cavalli’s Pre-Fall 22 collection, which included head-to-toe looks.

However you don’t have to wear an entire ensemble of snake prints. This year is all about comfort and bold looks, so this pattern fits the bill.

Most snake prints come in neutral colours like black, brown, grey, and beige. If you want to make a statement, there are also snake pieces in neon colours and vibrant hues.

Styling it can be tricky, but you can match it with neutrals or denim for a simpler look. You don’t have to wear a lot of accessories since the snake print catches a lot of attention.

What prints are in style this year?

2023 is leaning towards the Y2K looks, and futuristic graphic polka dots are going to be a trending print this year.

Even though Spring/Summer ’23 collections focused on black during fashion week, bright colours and patterns are still a thing this year. Bright rainbow stripes and colourful florals are also in style this year.

All of these prints are a great way to add something playful to your closet and add something extra to any outfit.
