Summer is edging closer by the day, so we can finally get excited about holiday accessories. Basket bags are at the top of my list.

The summer staple has seen a huge rise in popularity in recent years, with Loewe’s basket tote easily being the favourite.

Just as the weather hotted up last year, Lyst reported that searches for straw basket bags with leather details were up 50% last month. While Loewe’s has been the most wanted for some time, Jacquemus, Prada, Celine and Chloé dropped iterations to rival the iconic shopper.

Meanwhile Prada’s raffia tote bag set a trend in 2021 too. In July, searches for the bag increased by 296%, while pageviews for similar raffia bag styles have grown by 43%.
