Crochet has been making a comeback over the past few years, and I’m so into it.
Right now, searches for crochet hats are up 50%, proving our appetite for the look is still very much there as we get ready for spring to arrive (any day now!).
So what exactly is crochet?
This ancient technique is a time-consuming type of needlecraft, which uses a hook to create loops of yarn. It is believed to have originated in either Arabia or China, but the details are unclear.
What we do know is that it became popular in Europe during the 1800s, and clearly continues to be populart oday.
During lockdown, when we were all bored out of our heads, many began trying their hands at the craft. It quickly became a trend, particularly when it was adopted by Prada and Miu Miu. There are even YouTube tutorials showing you how to make your own Miu Miu hat!
These hats are stylish, practical, and so much fun to wear. Plus, with so many different styles and designs, you’re sure to find one (or three) that fit your unique fashion sense.
Trust me: once you add a crochet hat to your wardrobe, you’ll wonder how you ever lived without one.
