The little black dress is a forever winner, but a white dress holds its own as an equally indispensable and timeless addition to any person’s wardrobe. For summer, there’s nothing like it.
In fact, bright white is one of this season’s biggest colour trends. White is always in, but on the SS23 catwalk for Chanel, A.W.A.K.E. MODE, Hermes and Stella McCartney, it was worn head-to-toe for an almost angelic appearance.

The easiest way to achieve the look? A dress, of course!
Earlier this year, celebrities at The Oscars dazzled in a spectacular showcase of white gowns and dresses, proving that white attire is not solely reserved for brides. Emily Blunt, Eva Longoria, Michelle Yeoh, Halle Berry and Mindy Kaling all opted for white on the red carpet, cementing the look as one of SS23’s biggest.
Now it’s officially springtime and has been much warmer in the UK lately, I’ve been looking to update my wardrobe with some lighter clothes. I thought it would be the perfect time to stock up on some white dresses, especially after seeing those ladies smash it.
When it comes to fashion, I have always been inclined to make a statement and stand out in bold colours (as they’d say, go bold or go home), so I used to shy away from white dresses as I considered them to be too conventional.
