Florals for winter however aren’t automatically linked, but that doesn’t mean they don’t work.

In a bid to embrace joyful dressing this season, I’m ready to make winter floral dresses part of my cold weather wardrobe.
After all of those months of staying in, I think it’s high time we break free from unwritten fashion rules and try new things.
I’m sure you’ve also been easing into a more adventurous style of dressing since the COVID-19 restrictions have been lifted, so while winter floral dresses may seem novel at first, they’re not exactly a daunting choice.
Just look at them as a welcome change from the norm, the way vibrant colours are the top trend for autumn winter this year (if you want a lowdown on what’s trending this season, check out our trend report for autumn winter 2021 here).
We’re moving away from the usual dark hues for cold weather and saying hello to more lively colours. Think violets and dark blues, magenta instead of pastel pink.
You’ll be surprised to know how big the selection is for these types of dresses.
Over on the designers’ corner, Ganni has a floral poplin mini dress in light blue with purple flowers.
The high street has also come to our rescue, of course. Zara has a huge selection of floral dresses, including a midi dress with fuchsia and purple flowers.
