If you’re anything like me, you binge watched Wednesday as soon as it hit Netflix on November 23, and I’m here to tell you we’re not alone.
In just one week, Wednesday became Netflix’s most popular show, beating the last series of Stranger Things and breaking all kinds of TV watching records.

The series follows Wednesday Addams who is portrayed by Jenna Ortega as she is banished to Nevermore Academy, a magical boarding school filled with supernatural teens, following a deadly incident involving a bag of piranhas and a school swimming team.
When you hear the words supernatural boarding school and angsty teens you can only imagine where this is going. You guessed it, there’s a serial murderer on the loose, and Wednesday Addams has to solve the case (in style obvs).
Much of the show’s popularity is, of course, thanks to Wednesday, and her unique sense of style but the remainder of the cast including Catherine Zeta-Jones as Morticia and the original Wednesday Addams herself, Christina Ricci also offer up some serious style envy moments.
While the Addams Family have been gothic fashion icons since the 1960s when the first TV series came out, this time round this time round Academy Award-winning costume designer Colleen Atwood, gave Wednesday a Gen-Z makeover.
So where can you get Wednesday’s style? Keep reading for how to emulate the character’s best looks.

How to dress like Wednesday Addams
People have gone Wednesday Addams mad and are not only attempting to mimic her wardrobe and makeup looks, now even her iconic dance moves have gone viral on TikTok.
When we meet Wednesday in the opening scene, she’s sporting her trademark long-sleeve black dress with a white, pointed collar paying tribute to the original Wednesday, Christina Ricci, but as soon as Wednesday enters Nevermore Academy, we see a much more modernised look.
Wednesday is best known for her signature double braids and all black ensembles and while this is still front and centre, costume designer Colleen Atwood has modernized her wardrobe.
Atwood has introduced a duo chrome palette where we see Wednesday play around with tones of white and grey along with her trusty blacks. In this season we also see her add more texture and colour into her wardrobe by experimenting with stripes, checks, lace and leather.
In terms of footwear, Wednesday loves a chunky loafer or a pair of Dr. Marten boots. This season we saw her pair her striped uniform with the infamous Prada monolith loafers which have been seen on everyone from Kendall Jenner to Avril Lavigne.
While Wednesday’s accessorizing is generally kept to a minimum, you absolutely won’t find her without her trusty black satchel style backpack in tow. Where else would she keep her trusty side kick Thing!
Wednesday’s make up is also very intrinsic to her look. It’s all about the soft goth glam look. Here, hair and makeup designer Tara McDonald shares how to achieve the look by talking through the exact beauty products were used on the show
Keep scrolling for some of the exact pieces Wednesday wore in the show – from her chunky loafers to that ballgown to her trusty leather jacket – we’ve found them all.
While the original Alaïa ballgown that Wednesday wore to the Rave’n Dance is unavailable we’ve found some very good (affordable alternatives) Wednesday-approved options.
