If You Buy One Pair of Shoes in 2022, Make it These

The bigger, the better.

Did you think we’d be wearing slippers forever? Well I’ve got some news for you: platforms are back.

Fashion should be about having fun, so don’t waste time with practical shoe choices.

Only joking. You need to be able to walk in your shoes, but there’s no harm in wearing comfy shoes that also look incredible.

That’s the beauty of platforms. Whether you opt for strappy Mary-Janes or simple heels, they’re surprisingly easy on your feet.

It’s no coincidence that one of the biggest and most dramatic shoe trends for the year is actually pretty comfy.

Celebrity stylist Nicole Chavez told CNN, “We’re coming out of wearing sneakers and being in comfortable shoes, and so the jump from sneakers to stilettos is a big one.

“I feel like the platform, because it is more comfortable, is a great alternative.

“Right now, it’s platform everything. The higher, the chunkier, the better.”

Versace introduced their now famous Medusa Aevitas platforms in their AW21 show, with models stomping down the runway with coloured tights and matching sky-high satin platforms, while designers Molly Goddard and Moschino debuted their own iterations for the season too.

Meanwhile platform Mary-Janes from Musier Paris and Nodaleto have grown a cult following, with fashion girls falling for their girly yet tough appeal.

I’ve fallen hard too and I’ve been looking for the best platform heels all day (don’t tell my boss).

Here are the pairs I’ve saved.
