When is Tokyo Fashion Week?
Tokyo Fashion Week usually takes place twice a year, in March and August. The next RakutenFWT is scheduled to take place August 28 to September 2, and will showcase the SS24 collections.
Who organises RakutenFWT?
For almost two decades, the Japan Fashion Week Organization (JFW Organization) has been the team behind the RakutenFWT. Since it was established in 2005, the event has helped boost the country’s textile and fashion industries.
How do you get into RakutenFWT?
Like other global fashion weeks, RakutenFWT is by invitation-only and is exclusive to those working within the fashion industry, like press and media, buyers, designers and influencers. But if you don’t work in the industry or you can’t travel to Tokyo to watch the bi-annual event, you can watch some of the presentations online.
Can I get tickets for RakutenFWT?
Tickets for the RakutenFWT are not for sale. Only those invited can gain entry into the shows, and the invitations usually come from the designer’s PR or design team. You can usually apply for accreditation online or by emailing the PR team and requesting an invite, but these are in short supply and exclusive to those working in the industry.

Where is RakutenFWT held?
RakutenFWT Spring/Summer 2024 is scheduled at the main venues of Shibuya Hikarie and Omotesando Hills. Some shows will take place at other venues, but this depends on the individual brands or designers.

As mentioned, Rakuten Fashion Week TOKYO 2024 Spring/Summer is set to take place from August 28 to September 2. With a theme of ‘Open, Fashion Week’, most of the shows for the day start at around 10.30 to 11am and the last show starts at around 9pm.
