I have a confession: I’ve never really been fussed about fragrances. They’re obviously lovely, but my logic has always told me to save the £100 a nice bottle of perfume costs and use it for clothes.

They might seem like an indulgence you can live without, but there’s something really special about the spritz of a perfume bottle. It makes you feel confident and polished, and when you’re stuck on the central line at 6pm on a Tuesday, it’s great to know you smell great too.

This was the realisation I had anyway when I started wearing fragrances. Gucci’s Flora perfume was the first one I fell in love with, and since then I’ve become hooked on the designer’s transformative scents.

I’m not the only one who’s had their mind’s blown by Gucci Beauty. The brand’s perfumes are commonly found on bestselling lists, so they must be doing something right.

Under the creative direction of Alessandro Michele, many of the bottles have been redesigned in recent years and the brand even introduced The Alchemist’s Garden collection, its first ever Haute Perfumery line.

But which one should you choose? Here’s our definitive guide to Gucci’s best ever perfumes.
