It’s no secret that the past couple of years has been challenging for all of us, so doing something to refresh your look is never a bad idea.
If you’re too nervous to add more colour to your wardrobe or wear more prints, perhaps a haircut is what you need to help kickstart a new phase in your look — or ease you out of monotony.
Where do you start looking for ideas though and should the change be drastic? Well, Pinterest has predicted some of the biggest haircuts of 2022 and I have one word to describe them: bold. That’s no bad thing though.

Boy bob
We all know the bob. It’s sharp and chic. I don’t think it’s ever gone out of style, to be honest – but it’s going to be even bigger in 2022.
This year, it’s all about the boy bob – undone, textured and blunt. London hairstylist and CEO of Hershesons Luke Hersheson told Glamour, “What’s important is the texture of the bob, it needs to feel a bit undone, nothing too rigid.”

Octopus haircut
Sounds weird, but is undeniably cool.
Think mid-to-late noughties layered and textured cuts, where the upper half of the hair has more volume and the ends are thinner – kinda like the shape of octopus tentacles.
Countless publications including Stylist and Glamour are claiming this is the haircut of the year, so if you pick one, this is it.
Short hair mohawk

Forget the pixie cut, we’re moving straight to the short hair mohawk next year. The haircut is exactly how you think it looks — a mohawk but a bit more modest.
For inspiration, you can look back at Rihanna’s 2008 look – the Good Girl Gone Bad days.
Wolf cut
The mullet made a resurgence this year, but it looks like it will be even bigger in 2022 – as is evident by the surge in searches for the cut on Pinterest by a huge 190%.
I’m sure you already know what the traditional haircut looks like, but if you don’t want to go down the 80s route, you can opt for the TikTok-famous wolf cut hairstyle instead.
We do however encourage not to snip it yourself like many TikTokers, but to go to a reputable salon instead so you don’t end up with a cut you’re not happy with.
