These Zara Perfumes Smell Just Like Chanel

And they're just £12.99!

Last Updated on October 16, 2023

Did you know that many of Zara perfumes are actually dupes for designer fragrances, including Chanel? Here, I’m letting you in on the secret of which Zara fragrances smell like Chanel, so you don’t have to spend more of your hard-earned cash than you need to.

The high street brand isn’t just a dab hand at fashion, but their beauty pieces are better than you think too – particularly their perfumes. If you’re not ready to splurge on an expensive perfume, Zara’s affordable options are definitely the next best thing. In fact, as well as Chanel, you can find dupes for Byredo Bal d’Afrique, Tom Ford Neroli Portofino, Dior Sauvage and many, many more.

Chanel offers arguably the most iconic perfume on the planet, with Chanel No.5 topping bestseller lists every single year. The perfume was created over a century ago, but despite its history, its floral notes of rose, ylang-ylang, jasmine, lily of the valley, and iris offer a timeless fragrance that we’re still loving even to this day. But at nearly £100 a bottle, it’s certainly not affordable for all – especially during a cost of living crisis. It’s a similar story for Chanel’s other perfumes, like Chance and Bleu de Chanel, but here I’ll be sharing which Zara perfumes offer a similar scent.

Which Zara perfumes smell like Chanel?

If you’re a big fan of the designer label’s perfumes, you’ll be as excited as I was to discover that Zara has a couple of really good dupes for Chanel fragrances.

Firstly, it’s well-known that Zara Applejuice is a pretty great dupe for Chanel’s Chance perfume. The difference in price is massive; 100ml of Chanel Chance Eau Tendre will set you back over £100, while Zara’s Applejuice is £12.99 for 90ml. It’s definitely worth trying out!

If you’re buying perfume for a man in your life (or anyone who prefers masculine scents), Zara’s Navy Black is also a great dupe for Chanel’s Bleu De Chanel. 80ml of Navy Black comes in at £12.99, while the OG starts at almost £65.

Chanel’s Chance has notes of pink pepper, jasmine, iris, patchouli, musk and vanilla, which work to create a musky, powdery and floral scent that smells utterly delicious. Similarly Zara’s Applejuice has notes of rose, jasmine, violet, peony, cedar and sandalwood, which work to create a woody and floral scent similar to Chanel’s Chance.

The Real Deal: Chanel Bleu De Chanel

Chanel’s Bleu De Chanel is a woody fragrance, that’s become über popular since launching in 2010. It combines top notes of grapefruit, lemon, mint and pink pepper, middle notes of ginger, nutmeg, jasmine and Iso E Super, and base notes are incense, vetiver, cedar, sandalwood, patchouli, labdanum and white musk.

Meanwhile Zara’s Navy Black sits in a similar, dark bottle, and has top notes of nectarine, bergamot and grapefruit, middle notes of sage and coffee, and base notes of vetiver, amber and patchouli. While the scents aren’t exactly the same, there’s no denying their similarities. And at just £12.99 a bottle, it’s totally worth it.

Which Zara perfume is a dupe for Chanel No.5?

Surprisingly, Zara doesn’t have a dupe for Chanel No.5 – but it’s not all doom and gloom for thrifty people. There are plenty of other brands that do, including The Body Shop and M&S.

M&S Collection’s Velvet Rose Eau De Toilette is said to be super similar to Chanel, and starts at just £5. The Body Shop’s Wild Jasmine Eau de Toilette (formerly Indian Night Jasmine) is a little more pricey at £20 for 50ml.

Which Zara perfume smells like Carolina Herrera?

If you’re a fan of Carolina Herrera’s fragrances, you’ll be glad to know that Zara has a similar perfume. Zara’s Deep Garden is said to be similar to Carolina Herrera’s Good Girl.
