Is & Other Stories True to Size? Everything You Need To Know

Should you size up?

I’m absolutely in love with & Other Stories’ latest collection for AW22. If you are too, you probably want to know how the pieces fit before you splurge.

It’s always difficult to get the right size when shopping online, but once you’ve nailed it, you can usually shop the same size from that point on in the knowledge that it will fit you.

As someone who’s nailed the brand’s sizes, I’m here to help.

& Other Stories

In a perfect world, every high-street brand would have standardised sizing. Unfortunately we’re not there yet.

Many stores have inconsistent sizing, and I found & Other Stories’ sizes varies according to the atelier.

Each atelier is independent, so its sizing can vary from collection to collection, so it might be the case that you try something on and find out it’s too big or too small.

Here’s a friendly shopping reminder: size numbers don’t matter. Find what fits.

If you can afford to buy everything twice, it’s always a good idea to buy two different sizes, either sizing up or down.

If you’re shopping IRL, you have the luxury of being able to try before you buy – something I strongly recommend.

Does & Other Stories’ sizing come up small?

Some pieces come up small and others are on the larger side, but sizes depend on the atelier.

Many online reviews rave that the brand’s items are relatively true to size. For some, the dresses and skirts are perfect.

However you might find a few pieces too small if you have a big bust, so you could try getting a size up for a better fit.

Meanwhile the size of their knitwear depends on the fabric. You might have to go up a size or two if it’s a woven fabric, as this provides little to no stretch.

Some jumpers and cardigans made of wool have an oversized fit, but you’ll be able to see based on how it fits the model online.

Do & Other Stories’ coats run big or small?

For any brand, I recommend going one size up in outerwear.

It’s common to wear coats with other layers like chunky knitwear, so it’s good to have a little room under your coat.

Stories’ coats generally run true to size.

What size do & Other Stories models wear?

There’s no information about the sizes models wear, but it’s common practise for stylists to pin items to look well-fitting in photos.

That’s why it’s not always helpful to look at the sizes the models wear, but rather look at specific measurements of the products as well as your own.
