Anya Hindmarch and Uniqlo have collaborated for the first time on a capsule collection of playful knitwear for women and children and it’s now available to buy. As we know, Uniqlo is no stranger to designer collaborations. The Japanese brand most recently teamed up with Clare Waight Keller on Uniqlo:C and has joined forces with JW Anderson, Marni and even Roger Federer. OK, the tennis star isn’t a fashion designer but their joint venture was exciting nonetheless.
This time, Uniqlo and Anya Hindmarch have collaborated to design a capsule of knitwear with carefully crafted deconstructed details with playful touches of Anya’s iconic eyes. While many designer collaborations go big with too many items to keep track of, the duo have been considered with their collection. There are only a handful of jumpers in both the womenswear collection, as well as a small number of accessories that have been well thought through.
Speaking to Harpers Bazaar, Hindmarch explains, ““I love that Uniqlo calls their clothes Lifewear because I think that attitude is really important. I am all about responsible shopping and buying pieces that are made to last and will be worn for a lifetime.”
The beanies and scarves feature Uniqlo’s HEATTECH thermal clothing technology, which absorbs your body heat and prevents it from escaping, and you’ll notice details like external seaming and contrast stitching too.
