Chunky sandals are one of my favourite things from the Y2K trend resurrection. Whether you’re going for a casual or formal look, they add a fun and playful touch to any outfit.
These bold and stylish sandals are both comfortable and versatile, making them the perfect choice for summer. The chunky heel and wide straps provide support for your feet and ankles too.

Are chunky sandals still in style in 2023?
Chunky shoe trends will always be a thing, and it looks like chunky sandals are going to be this summer’s favourite shoe.
The spring summer 2023 collections of Proenza Schouler and Fendi have shown that chunky sandals are the chicest pair you’ll wear this summer.

A variety of high-end designers, like Chanel, Jil Sander, Loeffler Randall, and Larroude, also have their own versions of chunky sandals. Whether you want flatforms, wedges, or thick block heels, the key here is the chunkier, the better.
They’re also a great choice for those who prefer a bit of height, as the chunky heel provides a stable base while still adding a few inches of height.
What shoes will be popular in 2023?
Expect to see knee-high boots with slim heels and more chunky soles reminiscent of the Y2K era. Chic athletic looks like hiking sneakers and vintage sports shoes will remain popular this year. For sandals, the trend will lean towards sporty strapped options, fisherman sandals and strappy lace-up designs.
