When you think of summer style, what comes to mind? For me, the basket bag is as synonymous with warm weather as a sun dress.
Loewe’s basket bag has become a cult item in recent years, granted – but these have been around for as long as I can remember. It’s fair to say they’ve become a bonafide summer staple.
They may have been made for the beach, but fashion girls are wearing them everywhere in 2023. Think in the city, on vacation, at work or out for dinner. There really are no rules.
Plenty of other designers have released their own iterations of the basket bag in their recent collections, including Jacquemus, Marni, Balenciaga and Chloé to name a few. Of course the trend has drizzled down to the high street like they all do, so whatever your budget, there’s a bag with your name on it.
If you’re wondering what to wear it with, I refer you to my earlier point: anything goes. These go beautifully with jeans or bermuda shorts, just as well as they go with a summer dress.
