I’m really sorry to mention it, but Valentine’s Day is coming up next month. I don’t know about you, but it always makes me feel a little weird.

It’s not necessarily about having a date, but for me it’s more the pressure of needing to feel and look amazing when my pale skin hasn’t seen the sun for months and I’ve been shovelling chocolate into my mouth since November.

I’m never going to change, so when it comes to lingerie, I’m looking for a set that makes me feel incredible even when I’m not feeling my best.

I’ve always been picky about underwear. As a small-chested woman with thick thighs, I find some sets can make me look completely out of proportion. Then there’s the most important requirement of any lingerie set: comfort.

It doesn’t matter how beautiful a bra is if it digs into your skin and leaves marks, so I make sure I try before I buy.

Sizing is just as vital too, as so many of us are wearing the wrong bra size. The Bra Whisperer Katie Weir told us the telltale signs of an ill-fitting bra, which I encourage you to read before shopping for a new one.

My winter wardrobe is pretty much kitted out now, so I’ve turned my attention to lingerie ahead of February 14th and I’ve been doing some research into the prettiest sets on the market.

From sexy sets from Bluebella, to investment pieces from Agent Provocateur and everything in between, these are the best sets I’ve found that will suit a variety of body types – not just small boobs like mine!
