You’d be forgiven for thinking beige would never disappear from your Instagram feed, but 2021 brings a welcome change as colour is finally taking over again.
Pastels, pretty prints and colourful stripes are just some of this year’s biggest trends, but if cotton candy hues are a little too sweet for you, you’ll be pleased to hear that neon brights haven’t gone far.
Is neon still in style in 2021?
Balenciaga certainly didn’t shy away from neon in the label’s Resort 2021 collection, which saw pops of punchy pink, neon green and bold blue featuring heavily, and Balmain’s pink and lime neon suits stole the show in the SS21 show.
The Attico’s bright green and orange mules also sold out fast after being seen on Kylie Jenner and Hailey Bieber this year, proving we definitely still have an appetite for fluorescent fashion.
How to wear neon in 2021
So how do you wear neons in 2021? If you’re not used to wearing highlighter hues, it may seem daunting – but these looks have left us feeling inspired.
Wear it head-to-toe for a statement look, add a splash of neon in a print, or for those only willing to dip a toe into neon, add it to your nails.
