Sizing can vary hugely across different brands, so we’re here to make it a little bit easier.
If you’re in a rush and don’t have time to try something on in Primark, you might be wondering how their clothes fit.
Knowing the sizing of brands has become crucial for me, as it can be quite frustrating to find that one brand’s size is small, and another’s medium. After all, nothing beats the feeling of finding the perfect fit.
According to a GlobalData survey, 90% of UK shoppers found a lack of sizing consistency across retailers when purchasing clothes frustrating, with 77.4% agreeing it was enough to be put off a retailer.
These findings highlight the need for greater standardization in sizing practices within the fashion industry in the UK.
While affordable price points may initially draw us to a certain piece of clothing, ultimately it’s the fit that truly matters.
It’s ridiculous that some people may resort to buying the same item in multiple sizes just to ensure a better chance of finding the perfect fit. I sure am not doing that!

Does Primark sizing run small?
Primark often runs small.
In response to customer feedback, Primark released a new sizing chart in 2021. While this is a positive step towards addressing size inclusiveness concerns, some shoppers have reported that the brand’s clothing still tends to run small.
As with any retailer, it’s important to try items on and refer to the size chart before making a purchase to ensure the best fit possible.
How do I know what size to buy?
While Primark does offer a size guide to assist customers with their purchases, it’s important to note that there are still concerns about the brand’s sizing practices. Many shoppers have shared their experiences online, citing issues with the consistency of sizing across different items and styles.
As a result, it can be tricky and somewhat risky to make purchases without trying items on first. It’s not quick, but it’s definitely the safest option!
Has Primark changed its sizes?
As mentioned, Primark took steps to address customer complaints regarding sizing in 2021, vowing to improve its sizing practices.
As part of this effort, the brand introduced a new and improved sizing range that includes a more inclusive range of sizes, starting at XXS (UK 4/6) and going up to XXL (UK 22/24).
These efforts are a positive step towards addressing sizing concerns and ensuring that customers of all body types can find fashionable and affordable clothing that fits comfortably.
