Rectangle sunglasses are set to be the shape of 2021 – so we’ve found 9 pairs of shades from just £12.
It’s not summer without a pair of sunglasses and after seeing this style come up time and time again on both the runway and the style set, we’re calling it as the shape of 2021.
As the reemergence of 90s fashion continues, it’s no surprise that these sleek shades are coming back into style. But while in recent years these sunnies have been small and sleek, the rectangular style isn’t so diddy anymore. Thick frames in a multitude of colours are taking over, offering a touch of retro chic.
They’ve been spotted on celebrities Kendall Jenner, Bella Hadid, Dua Lipa, Hailey Bieber and many more, and frankly that many style icons jumping on the trend can’t be wrong.

Minimalists will love a chic black pair of thick-rimmed shades, favoured by the Hadid sisters. Teamed with a simple monochrome look, they’re simple and easy to wear. White shades work perfectly too (and we’ve found a selection of chic white sunnies for you to browse here).
While rectangle sunglasses might appear modest at first glance, you can have plenty of fun with them too. Ever the experimentalist, Lipa injected colour into her look with a pair of bright yellow specs, while tortoiseshell proved popular with Jenner and actress Emily Ratajkowski.
Luckily these star-approved shades don’t require a celebrity budget. ASOS, Zara, Mango and Weekday are amongst the high street stores offering affordable and stylish shades for SS21.
We’ve found 11 pairs of rectangle shades from just £12 to help you get the look for less.
