Remember mini bags? We’ll never forget Lizzo wearing an itsy bitsy Valentino handbag to the 2019 AMA’s, while Jacquemus’ adorably tiny handbags will always hold a place in our hearts. However in 2021, our arm candy is growing – so you never need to worry about choosing whether to pack your lipstick or purse again.
Oversized leather totes have been labelled one of the bags to have this year, with Acne and Givenchy offering their iterations of the holdall, while the trend will carry you through to AW21 too.
Marni, Khaite and STAND Studio were just some of the names that showcased the larger than life totes at their Autumn Winter shows, so we can expect to see the trend growing on the high street sooner rather than later too.
While Prada’s 90s-style shoulder bags and Bottega Veneta’s padded clutches have been trending hard this year, practical fashion is set to continue for some time so it’s not surprising to see Mary Poppins-style holdalls catching up.
After all, we’ll barely be at home when lockdown finally ends, so we’ll need bags that fit all our must-haves inside.
If you’re a fan of these leather totes too, shop our edit now. We’ve included the more affordable luxury options from Acne and STAND, as well as high street favourites Topshop and Mango.
