In case you haven’t already noticed, croissant bags are everywhere.
The pastry-shaped accessory was the “hottest bag of the summer” according to Lyst, thanks in part to celebrities such as Emily Ratajkowski, Irina Shayk and Kendall Jenner, who have all been spotted wearing the trend in recent months, as well as a shedload of influencers.

It’s not going anywhere in autumn and winter either. We reckon it’s become a closet staple at this point but we’re definitely not complaining. The pastry-inspired bag is the perfect mix of sleek and kitschy. It comes in a variety of colours too, so you can have one for every season (if you have the money to splurge, of course).
It’s incredibly easy to wear too — whether that’s your casual tee and jeans combo, your favourite neutral co-ords, or a little black/printed dress. It looks great to pair with lug sole boots, platform shoes, and more shoe trends for autumn and winter 2021.
Since the start of the year, searches for croissant-shaped styles have increased 206% compared with the same period last year. The products trending on the site include Bottega Veneta’s shoulder pouch, Lemaire’s croissant bag and products from Louis Vuitton and Fendi.
The shoulder bag is just one of the designer bags that’s trending hard right now. Similarly, Loewe’s basket bag is still big, so are Bottega Veneta’s padded cassette bag and Prada’s nylon shoulder bag.
If you’re able to splash out on a Bottega Veneta bag, good on you – but if not, there are plenty of high street iterations to help you achieve the look. We’ve rounded up our favourites from Zara, ASOS, Monki and more.
