The smartest fashion move you can make this season is to get yourself a roll neck top, pronto.
My New Year’s resolution for 2021 was to shop smarter, not harder. That’s why any item that can be worn in a multitude of ways is always at the top of my wishlist this year.

If you’re attempting to be a savvier shopper too, this is always something to take into consideration, whether you’re buying shoes, bags, jackets or skirts.
Some of the best fashion advice I ever received was to make sure you have at least 5 different outfits that will go with an item before purchasing it, so you’re not then forced to spend more trying to make it work for you.
Roll neck tops are a no brainer if you’re following this logic. There are so many ways to wear them, as the street style crowd proved at Fashion Week.
The trend was also a feature of COS’ LFW show, with contrasting roll neck tops worn under coats.
The roll neck or second skin top was worn under dresses, shirts and knits to add a pop of colour and as both a practical and stylish way to get some extra warmth.
Of course, they can also be worn as a stand-out piece of an outfit if you prefer to keep it simple.
Colour block tops in bright oranges, blues, greens and pinks certainly make an impact, especially when teamed with contrasting tailored trousers and skirts, as well as statement prints such as checkerboard and graphic florals.
All in all, the roll neck top has got me feeling very inspired when it comes to my winter wardrobe. As a result, I’ve been doing some hunting on the high street and these 14 spoke to me.
