I personally believe the most important thing when it comes to fashion is that you feel comfortable and confident in what you’re wearing. For me, it’s about expressing myself through my own personal style and handpicking the trends that suit me.

There are plenty of trends I’m excited to start embracing in 2022, and for those that are as excited as me, I’m sharing some of them with you, right here.

Pinterest has given us some hints and tips with their latest Pinterest Predicts report for 2022, which covers the trends they predict will be huge next year in fashion, beauty, wellbeing, home, travel and more.

It’s a good indicator of what will be popular, as 8 out of 10 of their predictions for 2021 came true.

But on top of some of their hints and tips, I’m sharing some trends I’ve already noticed coming up myself.

It’s time to dig out your Shrimps bags and pear necklaces as according to Pinterest, we’re about to embrace the pearl.

“In 2022, people of all ages will embrace iridescent accents in their homes, in their jewellery boxes and even as nail art,” they write in their report.

“Pearl-themed parties will be on the rise, too, as people opt for pearly gowns and wedding décor.”

Checkerboard is going no where in 2022, so if you needed a sign to finally take the plunge and embrace it, this is it.

Searches for the pattern are up 160% on Pinterest and like pearls, it’s not just on our clothes.

Pinterest report, “Chequered designs are having their moment in all areas of peoples lives – from nails and rugs to funky flooring.”

Pantone’s Colour of the Year 2022? ‘Very Peri’ – a new shade of ‘violet-infused blue’.

Laurie Pressman, Vice President of the Pantone Color Institute, explained, “The Pantone colour of the year reflects what is taking place in our global culture, expressing what people are looking for that colour can hope to answer.

“Creating a new colour for the first time in the history of our Pantone Color of the Year educational colour program reflects the global innovation and transformation taking place.

“As society continues to recognise colour as a critical form of communication, and a way to express and affect ideas and emotions and engage and connect, the complexity of this new red violet infused blue hue highlights the expansive possibilities that lay before us.”
